What documentation do I need to enter Jamaica?
All visitors (including infants) must present valid travel documents (such as a passport) at the airline check-in counter to ensure they will be permitted to board a flight to Jamaica. Citizens of some countries are also required to have a valid Jamaican visa for their trip. Can I rent a car in Jamaica?
Many major car rental companies are located on the island.  You may pick up a rental car at the airports or in many of the larger towns including Kingston, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. Bear in mind that vehicles are operated on the left side in Jamaica.   Vacastayja offers you the option to book round-trip airport transfers and we can also arrange reliable private taxi service for your daily excursions.

How do I pay for my reservation?
Vacastayja allows you to book and pay online. We accept domestic and international payments with Debit and Credit cards bearing Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express, logos as well as ACH/eCheck.

What is your cancelation policy?
If you cancel more than 30 days before check-in, all monies will be refunded. If you cancel less than 10 days before check-in, there will be no refunds of any kind. No credit will be given for shortened stays due to late arrival or early departure for any reason. No cancelations due to weather.

Can I purchase travel insurance for my trip?
Vacastayja offers you the option to purchase travel insurance on our website so that you can ensure the money spent on your next vacation can be covered. Cancelation Protection and Damage Protection policies provide peace of mind so if plans are complicated by certain listed events, your financial losses can be covered. Cancelation Protection safeguards your non-refundable trip costs in case you need to cancel your trip for a covered reason. Our vacation rental payments typically become non-refundable 30 days in advance of the arrival date. Damage Protection can cover you in the case of accidental damage to the rental and can reimburse you if your refundable damage deposit is withheld due to a covered loss.

Are there extra fees/taxes associated with my reservation?
Yes, there are fees and taxes associated with your reservation. You will be billed a tourism tax which is payable to our local taxing authority. You will be required to pay a cleaning fee. If you have not purchased travel insurance for your trip, a refundable Security Deposit for your stay will be booked on your credit card.  

What should I bring for my trip?
Lightweight tropical clothing is best year-round. Swimwear is allowed on the beach or at the poolside but not on the streets or in public areas. Don't forget your sun screen lotion and your lively spirit for fun and excitement. You will enjoy Jamaica and relish your experience at one of our Vacastayja vacation rental properties. 
 
Can I use my credit card in Jamaica?
All major credit cards are accepted and can be used for most commercial transactions. It is however advisable to have cash on hand for transactions to be conducted in informal settings. The local banks provide easy and accessible 24-hour ATM banking services which will often allow you to withdraw local currencies directly from your bank accounts. Service fees may apply.

Can I check-in early?
We will do our best to accommodate your request for early check-in. Our check-in time is 2:00 p.m. across all our properties. If you require early check-in please advise your sales agent or select this option during your on-line reservation. Please note that there is an early check-in fee.  

Can I check-out late?
We will do our best to accommodate your request for late check-out. Our check-out time is 11:00 a.m. across all our properties. If you require late check-out please advise your sales agent or select this option during your on-line reservation. Please note that there is a late check-out fee.

Can I bring my pet?
We love pets and would love to be able to accommodate them. If you are visiting Jamaica, there are health and safety restrictions regarding bring your pet into the country. You may click on the following link for further details: http://www.moa.gov.jm/VetServices/import_dogs_cats.php.
If you live in Jamaica, there are health and safety concerns that also restrict our ability to allow for pets to be brought to our vacation rental properties.  

What happens if I have a Service Animal?
Our policy relating to pets does not apply to Service Animals. You and your Service Animal will be welcomed to stay with us at any of our Vacastayja vacation rental properties. Please advise us during the reservation process so that we might take the appropriate steps to accommodate you. 

How often will my unit be cleaned?
Your rental unit will be freshly cleaned when you arrive to stay with us. You will be provided with a supply of toiletries and linens for all members of your party. For your comfort and privacy and depending on the length of your stay, your unit will be cleaned every other day. You may however request additional cleanings or a modified cleaning schedule once you arrive. Some properties provide an optional full-time/part-time housekeeping service at an additional charge, if you select this option, then your cleaning schedules will be customized accordingly.

Can I book round-trip airport transfers?
Vacastayja offers an affordable option for round-trip airport transfer for the members of your party from the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay. If you will arrive in Jamaica through the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, please speak with your reservation agent or send us an email message. The price quoted in the options for round-trip airport transfers is a flat rate which will allow for the transfer of all the members of your party who have been named in your reservation. 

Can I book Tours and other activities through the website?
Vacastayja will assist you with booking tours and other activities. Please speak with your reservation agent or select the option during your on-line reservation. We will follow-up with you to determine the specific tours or activities you wish to have us book on your behalf. 

Can I have my Wedding at a Vacastayja vacation rental property?
Jamaica is a beautiful place for your destination wedding.  We can assist you with planning and executing your wedding at any of our Vacastayja vacation rental properties. Please email us or speak with your reservation agent about how we can assist in creating your dream destination wedding.
